Brownie Bottom Cookie Dough Cheesecake

A couple weekends ago, I made this cheesecake to celebrate my birthday with my grandparents. I mean, It's been way over a month and the birthday festivities are just coming to a close. i don't know how I drag my birthday on for so long, but I am thrilled at any opportunity to have cake! :) This cake was such a delicious combination of brownie, cheesecake and cookie dough! Pupsicles

Today, I'm talking about a little treat that I put together for my dog during the summer! But first, a little life update - I have been in my school with my cooperating teacher for a while now! We've been decorating and setting up some welcome activities for the kids on the first day! And today is the day! We will have 19 little six year olds coming in bright and early to kick off their school year! I am anticipating a lot of work but a lot of fun! I am so excited to spend 4 whole months in the first grade!

Roasted Beet & Kale Salad

This roasted been and kale salad has been a longtime favorite in my house! The beets and kale are paired with maple candied walnuts and goat cheese - when it's tossed all together it tastes so good you almost forget that you're eating kale! :) I am not crazy about kale! I love the nutrients it offers your body, but I don't love the way it tastes! This salad is my favorite way to eat kale!

Music for Monday: Georgia


My family has been doing yoga together on our back deck this summer - an instructor comes and we get our yoga on! :) Our teacher plays music during yoga and last Wednesday, I spent the entire yoga session asking 'What song is this?' There was so much good music playing! It inspired me to create a new Fall playlist on Spotify! I'm so excited for the next few Music Mondays, because I have great music to share!!

Homemade Pesto

I am finally sharing this pesto recipe! I try to get at least one recipe up each week and I was pushing it this week! The real goal is to get 3 recipes up per week, but I occasionally let myself slip down to one during busier weeks! When the power went out on Tuesday, my blogging plan for the week kind of crumbled! I'm so glad to finally be sharing one of my favorite recipes ever!! I could eat pesto everyday and you wouldn't hear me complain once! I love versatile it is and I just never get sick of it!

My mom has been making this pesto recipe for years, and really, nothing compares! I have tried so many (I mean, probably hundreds) store bought and restaurant pestos and nothing has come close to being as good as this recipe! I love strong & flavorful pesto - lots of basil & lots of garlic makes my heart happy! Here is how we do pesto around here...

When the power goes out

Yesterday, I sat down to write a fun blog post for today but it started storming like crazy and the power went out! I was planning on sharing my pesto recipe but I didn't get to write 2 words before the power went out - ugh! And then it stayed out for 9 hours!! All that to say, I am not sharing a pesto recipe today, instead I'm talking about our power outage entertainment! The pesto recipe will be up tomorrow!

The Eclipse of 2017

Yesterday, there was an eclipse and I was pretty psyched to see how the eclipse would play out! I had been hearing so much hype and excitement about the whole situation - we had a partial solar eclipse in Montreal, so it didn't get completely dark but it was still pretty cool! We made a pin hole camera to watch the eclipse. A Beach Bag and Heat Transfer Vinyl Tips

I shared the beginnings of this bag in my favorites last Friday, and in less than a week the bag is done! I've talked a little bit about my cricut design process in the past, so I won't go into too much detail about the design of this bag. Banana Bread

When I first started a blog, I wrote a list of recipes on a tiny little post-it note that I knew I wanted to share at some point. I started a blog on a major whim, which is so out of character for me. I'm a major planner, so having that little post-it full of recipes settled my mind big time! This is one of the first recipes that I wrote down and I am so excited to be sharing it over a year later!

This is a recipe that my mom has been making for my entire life - I think I was stirring banana bread for her before I could form coherent sentences! It's definitely a favorite of mine because of its familiarity but also because it is so easy to make! In fact, it is so easy that I only had to take 5 pictures of the process! Lemon Meringue Pie

I made this pie almost a whole month ago for my Uncle Darryl's birthday and I am just getting around to posting it now - how is that possible!? I hardly remember making this Lemon Meringue Pie, but I will do my best to detail all the steps for you! The original recipe is from a blog called Crazy for Crust - how cute is that?! You can find it HERE.

Start by making a pie crust and pre-baking it in an 8'' or 9'' pie plate. You could buy pre-made pie crust from the store or you could make your own pie crust! You can read all about how I do pie crust HERE. I included a little video in that post to share some extra tips! The pie crust should be cooked and completely cooled before filling it!

Baking Supply Labels

I had a completely different post planned for today, but I moved things around because of this little project that I finished on Sunday! This project has been a long time in the making! Even before I had my beloved cricut, I wanted to buy pre-cut letters to label my family's sugar/flour/salt... containers. Pesto, Tomato & Mozzarella Stuffed Chicken


I should preface this post by saying that dealing with chicken is my least favorite kitchen duty. I don't love working with any meat really, but I find chicken the hardest! If I were to ever go vegetarian, my aversion to raw meat would be the main reason for my vegetarianism! This recipe involves a whole lot of raw chicken work - bleh! If you don't mind it, this recipe is great for you. If you struggle, as I do with raw meat, please know that the end result is so so worth it!!
